Mumbai Indians Launch New Jersey Ahead of IPL 2026

Mumbai: The Mumbai Indians, who have clinched the IPL title five times, have revealed their new jersey for the upcoming IPL 2026 season. This fresh design features a bold motif based on the letter 'M', crafted as a repeating pattern to evoke rhythm and continuity.

While the previous year's jersey retained the classic blue and gold colors, the 2026 version introduces a more vibrant visual identity through the 'M' design, enhancing the bond between the team and its supporters. Notably, the jersey does not display five stars above the logo, which signify the team's championship victories.

The Mumbai Indians elaborated on the significance of the 'M' pattern featured on the jersey.

"The 2026 jersey design draws inspiration from the letter 'M', which is repeated to create a sense of rhythm and continuity throughout the fabric. This 'M' embodies the MI mindset, mentality, and momentum, symbolizing focus and a drive for progress. By transforming a single letter into a cohesive pattern, we express the collective strength that arises when the team and its fans unite," the team stated.

"The signature blue and gold colors define the jersey's visual identity. The deep blue captures the essence of Mumbai—strong, vibrant, and ever-moving—while the bold, flowing gold waves inject energy and dynamism into the design. Gold signifies success, victory, and legacy, reinforcing the Mumbai Indians' identity and their unwavering passion for cricket," they added.

The Mumbai Indians will once again be captained by all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is currently performing well in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. After a rocky start, the team managed to reach the playoffs in IPL 2025, ultimately falling to Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2.

Since their last IPL title in 2020, the Mumbai Indians are eager to break their title drought in the 19th season of the tournament. If they succeed in winning IPL 2026, they will become the first team to secure six championships.
