Following the toss, MI captain Hardik Pandya announced that Mayank Markande and Mitchell Santner have been included in the playing XI, replacing Chahar and Ghazanfar. He stated, "We are going to bowl first. The pitch looks promising. We played our initial match on a different pitch, but this one appears similar. Batting second here is often advantageous. It's a significant match for us, and we aim to showcase our best cricket while enjoying the game. We requested quality pitches, and we have received them."
Pandya further emphasized the importance of bowlers landing the ball accurately and batters executing the right shots to stay competitive. He noted that historically, teams have found success chasing at Wankhede, especially with the dew factor coming into play later in the game.

Patidar remarked, "It's a solid batting surface, and the ball behaves well. We aim to set a challenging total and apply pressure on MI. This is our fourth match, and despite some challenges, we have seen many positives, including our last game where we turned around from 97 for 6 to score over 200." He added that the atmosphere at the stadium is always electric, making it a thrilling experience.
