Mumbai Indians Strengthen Coaching Staff
The reigning champions, Mumbai Indians (MI), have announced the appointment of Kristen Beams as their new spin bowling coach in preparation for the upcoming 2026 Women's Premier League season. Beams, a former Australian leg-spinner, is expected to enhance the team's bowling capabilities. She was instrumental in Australia's World Cup successes, ranking as the third-highest wicket-taker during the 2017 ODI World Cup. Her playing career encompasses 1 Test, 30 ODIs, 18 T20Is, and 45 matches in the WBBL before transitioning into coaching.
Beams' Notable Coaching Experience
In addition to her impressive playing background, Beams possesses a strong coaching resume. She has experience coaching in both the WBBL and The Hundred, has led the Australia Women's U19 Team, and currently serves as the National Development Lead at Cricket Australia. Additionally, she holds the position of Community Cricket Manager - South at Cricket Tasmania.

Mumbai Indians Retain Key Players for Upcoming Season
As the new season of the WPL approaches, starting January 9, the two-time champions Mumbai Indians are optimistic after successfully retaining a majority of their championship-winning squad during the mega auction in New Delhi. The core team includes captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Hayley Matthews, Amanjot Kaur, and G Kamalini. Additionally, MI has re-signed Amelia Kerr, who was named player of the tournament at the latest T20 World Cup, along with S Sajana, Saika Ishaque, Sanskriti Gupta, and experienced pacer Shabnim Ismail.
