MS Dhoni Inducted into ICC Hall of Fame: A Celebration of Cricketing Greatness

MS Dhoni's Historic Induction into the ICC Hall of Fame
On June 9, the International Cricket Council (ICC) honored former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, widely known as MS Dhoni, by inducting him into the Hall of Fame. This recognition highlights his significant contributions to cricket, including leading India to three prestigious ICC titles: the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dhoni participated in 538 international matches. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh in Chattogram in 2004 and played his last international match in July 2019 during the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, where he was India's leading scorer. Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, concluding a remarkable journey filled with achievements.
In his first tournament as captain, Dhoni led India to victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, triumphing over Pakistan in a thrilling final.
During his first ODI World Cup as captain in 2011, Dhoni famously hit the winning six against Sri Lanka, a moment etched in the memories of cricket fans across India.
A little over two years later, he guided the Indian team to victory in the Champions Trophy in 2013, solidifying his status as one of the most successful captains in cricket history, both in India and worldwide.
The official induction ceremony took place in London on June 9 at 9:00 PM IST. Jay Shah, the honorary chairman of the ICC, expressed his thoughts on Dhoni's induction alongside six other legendary cricketers.
The additional inductees included Daniel Vettori from New Zealand, Sana Mir from Pakistan, Matthew Hayden from Australia, and South African legends Hashim Amla and Graeme Smith.
