MS Dhoni Achieves 350 Sixes Milestone in T20 Cricket

Historic Achievement for MS Dhoni

During a match against Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, MS Dhoni, the legendary Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player, became the fourth Indian cricketer to hit 350 sixes in T20 cricket. This remarkable feat occurred in the 16th over of the first innings.

Facing Riyan Parag's unique bowling style, Dhoni remained composed and struck a powerful shot over Parag's head, showcasing his strength.

Joining the Elite Club

At 43 years old, Dhoni joins an elite group of Indian batters, including Rohit Sharma (542 sixes), Virat Kohli (434 sixes), and Suryakumar Yadav (368 sixes). The all-time record for T20 sixes is held by Chris Gayle, who has an astonishing 1,056 sixes.

Dhoni's Innings Cut Short

Dhoni's innings concluded on the second-to-last ball of the first innings when he attempted to paddle a low full toss. Tushar Deshpande made a stunning catch at short fine leg, leading to Dhoni's dismissal for 16 runs off 17 balls.

The innings was energized by Ayush Mhatre, who scored a rapid 43 runs from just 20 balls. However, after Mhatre's exit, CSK faced a mini-collapse, although Shivam Dube and Dewald Brevis formed a crucial 59-run partnership to stabilize the innings.

CSK Restricted to 187/8

As CSK looked to build momentum, Akash Madhwal dismissed Brevis (42 runs) with a well-timed delivery. Dube showcased his hitting ability but fell to Madhwal on the first ball of the final over.

Anshul Kamboj managed to find the boundary, while Noor Ahmad ran two runs on the last ball, helping CSK finish at 187/8, which was slightly below par given the high-scoring potential of the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
