Mohammed Siraj's Comeback and Team Updates

New Delhi: Senior fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has made his way back into the ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against New Zealand, while Shreyas Iyer's inclusion is contingent upon passing a fitness test.

After being left out of the previous home series against South Africa, Siraj's return to the ODI lineup is highly anticipated.

Shreyas Iyer, who faced a health scare due to a spleen laceration during the ODI series in Australia last November, must demonstrate his fitness during the Vijay Hazare Trophy this month to receive clearance from the Centre of Excellence (COE).

Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was not given the green light by the COE to bowl a full quota of 10 overs, leading to his exclusion from the squad for the series starting January 11 in Vadodara.

The remaining two matches are scheduled to take place in Rajkot and Indore on January 14 and 18, respectively.

Despite scoring a remarkable century during the South Africa series, Ruturaj Gaikwad was not selected by the selectors.
