Siraj's Disappointment with Air India

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has voiced his frustration regarding a delay he experienced on an Air India Express flight. He described the situation as the worst airline experience due to a lack of communication and updates from the airline. Siraj was returning to Hyderabad from Guwahati after suffering a humiliating defeat against South Africa by 408 runs in the second Test, resulting in a 0-2 series loss. This marks India's second clean sweep at home, following a 3-0 defeat to New Zealand last year.

Details of the Flight Delay

On Wednesday evening, Siraj expressed his anger over the flight delay, which was scheduled to depart at 7:25 PM. He highlighted the airline's failure to communicate effectively. In a post on social media, he mentioned that Air India flight IX 2884 from Guwahati to Hyderabad was supposed to take off at 7:25 PM, but there was no information provided by the airline. Despite multiple attempts to get in touch, the flight was delayed without any valid explanation. He stated, "This is truly disappointing, and it's a common complaint among passengers. We were stuck for four hours with no updates, making it the worst airline experience. I wouldn't recommend this flight to anyone if they can't take a stand."

Air India's Response

On Thursday, Air India Express announced that the flight from Guwahati to Hyderabad (IX 2884) was canceled due to unforeseen operational reasons. This clarification came after Siraj publicly criticized the airline for the delay and lack of communication. In response to Siraj's post, Air India Express expressed regret over the cancellation, stating, "We regret to inform you that the flight has been canceled due to unexpected operational reasons. Our team at the airport is actively assisting all guests with necessary arrangements. We understand how challenging this situation is, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Please be assured that our team will keep you updated and provide all possible assistance."
