Mohamed Salah Surprised by Arne Slot's Impact at Liverpool

Salah Reflects on Slot's First Season
Liverpool's prominent winger, Mohamed Salah, expressed his astonishment at the significant influence manager Arne Slot has had during his inaugural season in the Premier League.
Following Jurgen Klopp's departure after an extensive eight-and-a-half-year period with Liverpool at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, Slot took the reins from Feyenoord last summer. His arrival has left the football community in awe as Liverpool shone brightly in his first year in England's top division.
Salah Praises Slot's Leadership
Under Slot's guidance, Liverpool clinched the Premier League title in his debut season, culminating in a stunning 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in late April.
"I was not anticipating such a swift victory. Who could have foreseen that the transition would yield results so quickly? I believe no one could. During preseason, Arne approached me and requested that I set an example for my teammates," Salah remarked, as reported by ESPN.
"I assured him that I would always perform at my best, not merely to set an example, but because that is my nature. He outlined his expectations for my role in the game, emphasizing the importance of running, which I appreciated," he added.
Contrasting Styles: Klopp vs. Slot
Salah has been a key player for Liverpool, netting 28 goals and currently leading the race for the Premier League Golden Boot. Having experienced both Klopp's and Slot's coaching styles, he noted the distinctions between the two managers.
"Arne is very straightforward and has revitalized our competitive spirit, while under Jurgen, we may have become a bit too comfortable towards the end," he explained.
"Arne and his coaching staff encourage open discussions and sharing of feelings, which I believe has been crucial for my performance and ultimately contributed to our success," he concluded.
Liverpool's upcoming Premier League match is set against second-placed Arsenal at Anfield this Sunday.
