Salah Reflects on Manager's Influence

Liverpool [UK], May 10: Mohamed Salah, the prominent winger for Liverpool, expressed his astonishment at the significant impact manager Arne Slot has made during his inaugural season in the Premier League.

Following Jurgen Klopp's departure after an impressive eight-and-a-half-year run, Slot took over from Feyenoord last summer and quickly made headlines as Liverpool shone under his leadership in England's top football league.

Under Slot's guidance, Liverpool clinched the Premier League title in his debut season, culminating in a stunning 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the end of April.

"I was not anticipating such a swift victory. Who could have foreseen that the transition would be so successful? I believe no one did. During preseason, Arne approached me and asked me to set an example for my teammates," Salah shared, as reported by ESPN.

"I assured him that I would always perform at my best, not just to lead by example, but because that is my nature. He outlined his expectations for my role in the game, emphasizing my responsibilities in running, which I appreciated," he continued.

Salah has been a key player for Liverpool, netting 28 goals and currently leading the race for the Premier League Golden Boot. The Egyptian forward, who has experienced both Klopp's and Slot's coaching styles, noted the differences between the two.

"Arne is very straightforward and has reinvigorated our competitive spirit, while under Jurgen, we may have become a bit too comfortable towards the end," he remarked.

"Arne and his coaching staff are more receptive to dialogue and sharing emotions, which I believe has been crucial for my performance and ultimately contributed to our success," he added.

Liverpool's upcoming Premier League match is set against second-placed Arsenal at Anfield this Sunday.
