In a thrilling episode of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone continued her quest as a belt collector by securing the CMLL World Women’s Championship. She triumphed over Zeuxis in a match that set the stage for her upcoming showdown against Toni Storm at the All In: Texas pay-per-view.
During the special AEW Grand Slam: Mexico event held at Arena Mexico, Mone faced Zeuxis for the championship. The match kicked off with Zeuxis displaying aggressive tactics, nearly pinning Mone with a powerful Lungblower.
Mone retaliated with a Springboard Meteora, showcasing her agility. The contest featured a series of high-flying maneuvers and submission attempts, culminating in Mone executing a powerslam to clinch the victory.

Post-Match Confrontation with Toni Storm
Following her victory, Mercedes Mone encountered Toni Storm, the AEW Women’s World Champion, in a heated exchange to build anticipation for their title match. During the confrontation, Mina Shirakawa distracted Mone, allowing Storm to execute a surprise attack from behind. Storm managed to deliver a German Suplex, but officials intervened before she could perform a Storm Zero on the stage.
If Mone secures a win at AEW All In: Texas on July 12, she will add the AEW Women’s World Championship to her impressive collection, which currently includes the AEW TBS Championship, the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship (along with the Southside Wrestling Entertainment Women’s Championship), the EWA Women’s Championship, and now the CMLL World Women’s Championship.
Having won the TBS Title at last year’s Double or Nothing event, Mone has held onto it for over a year. Prior to her CMLL title victory, she made a successful return to the indie scene, capturing the EWA Title at the Prater-Catchen event in Vienna, Austria.
In other news, Mone is set to defend her newly acquired CMLL title for the first time at the upcoming Fantastica Mania event in Arena Mexico against La Catalina. AEW's social media channels have already teased this match following Wednesday's Grand Slam Mexico episode.
