Marco Jansen Anticipates Bowling Advantage in WTC Final Against Australia

Jansen's Confidence Ahead of the WTC Final
South African fast bowler Marco Jansen believes that the bowling-friendly conditions at Lord's could significantly benefit him during the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia.
He expressed his enthusiasm to gain insights from former England pacer Stuart Broad, who has joined the South African team as a consultant for this crucial match.
A Strong Performance in Previous Tests
During his inaugural Test tour of the UK in 2022, Jansen took nine wickets at an impressive average of 13.11, proving to be a formidable opponent for England. He notably captured four wickets in just 11.4 overs, contributing to an innings victory for South Africa.
Jansen as a Key Threat to Australia
Standing over two meters tall, the left-arm bowler showcased remarkable swing with the Duke's ball during his previous tour, positioning himself as one of Australia's primary challenges in their WTC title defense, set to commence on June 11.
Reflecting on his past performance, Jansen feels confident about the upcoming final, recognizing areas for improvement.
Insights from Stuart Broad
The inclusion of Stuart Broad as a consultant adds an extra layer of strategy for the Proteas. Broad, who has taken 153 of his 604 Test wickets against Australia, also holds the record for 113 wickets at Lord's.
Jansen is keen to absorb Broad's expertise to enhance South Africa's chances of winning the championship.
"I want to learn from his experiences against Australia at Lord's and understand the strategies he employed to dismiss certain batters," Jansen remarked.
Preparing for a Challenging Encounter
Jansen acknowledged the challenges posed by world-class opponents, noting that the neutral venue and the stakes of the WTC mace will create a different atmosphere for the final.
"We know Australia has strong bowlers and batters, making it a tough contest. The conditions will also influence our approach," he stated.
He emphasized the importance of adapting strategies based on the match situation, focusing on how to dismiss specific batters while ensuring his own performance at the crease.
