Marco Jansen Adopts Jasprit Bumrah's Bowling Style Ahead of T20 World Cup Semi-Final

Jansen Inspired by Bumrah's Technique

Marco Jansen, the South African fast bowler, disclosed that he attempted to mimic the bowling style of India's Jasprit Bumrah after reviewing footage from their first Test match in Kolkata last year. He noted that during the warm-up matches for the ongoing T20 World Cup, he felt the ball was exhibiting significant movement off the pitch, thanks to Bumrah's technique.

"During the first Test in Kolkata, I observed Jasprit Bumrah's replays and noticed the impressive revolutions on the ball. I thought it would be beneficial to try and replicate his approach," Jansen stated, as reported by a sports news outlet. "In the warm-up, I implemented his technique, and it appeared to be effective. The ball was moving sharply off the wicket, which was promising. I continued using this method in the match and quickly took two wickets, so I decided to stick with it."

Both teams have taken distinct routes to reach this stage of the tournament. Jansen has been impressive in the T20 World Cup, claiming 11 wickets across five matches with an average of 16.72.
