Manoj Tiwary Advocates for RCB to Win IPL Trophy for Virat Kohli
RCB's Quest for IPL Glory
Despite not having secured an IPL title, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is currently in a strong position, with former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary emphasizing that Virat Kohli deserves the trophy more than anyone else. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, RCB holds the second spot in the IPL points table, accumulating 17 points from 12 matches.
RCB received a significant boost when the Lucknow Super Giants triumphed over the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This outcome enhances RCB's chances of finishing in the top two, but they must secure a victory against SRH to solidify their position and keep their hopes alive for a spot in the IPL finals.
Manoj Tiwary drew a compelling parallel between RCB's current season and India's 2011 World Cup campaign under MS Dhoni, where the nation rallied behind Sachin Tendulkar to secure a well-deserved title. He urged Rajat Patidar and the rest of the RCB squad to maintain their momentum for the sake of Virat Kohli.
“With Gujarat Titans losing, RCB now has a very good chance to finish in the top two. It seems like the universe is aligning to help RCB end their trophy drought and win the IPL,” Tiwary remarked on Cricbuzz.
“Virat Kohli deserves this; so many years have passed. RCB deserves the trophy. With GT's loss to Lucknow Super Giants, RCB can secure a top-two finish. The entire RCB team deserves to win the trophy,” he added.
Tiwary further stated, “No one deserves it more than Virat Kohli. When India won the World Cup in 2011, we all wished for it because of Sachin Tendulkar. We wanted India to win the World Cup after so many years of his contributions to Indian cricket.”
“In franchise cricket, Kohli has consistently been among the leading run-scorers. RCB needs to win the trophy for him. They should push for him; he has been an outstanding Indian captain. If RCB triumphs this year, it will be a tribute to Virat Kohli,” he concluded.
