Manchester United Triumphs Over Crystal Palace with Second-Half Comeback
United's Remarkable Comeback at Selhurst Park
London [UK], November 30: Manchester United showcased a remarkable second-half performance to secure a 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, effectively ending the Eagles' impressive unbeaten streak at home in the Premier League.
The match saw Crystal Palace take the lead with a penalty from Jean-Philippe Mateta in the first half, but United responded with two quick goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount shortly after the break.
United had an early opportunity in the first minute, but Dean Henderson, the Palace goalkeeper, was quick to deny Casemiro's attempt following a long throw-in. As the first half progressed, United struggled to find their rhythm, with Ruben Amorim's side appearing vulnerable defensively.
Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner capitalized on this, creating multiple chances through Mateta, who initially missed two attempts before earning a penalty in the 36th minute after being fouled by Leny Yoro. Mateta converted the penalty after a retake, giving Palace a 1-0 lead at halftime.
However, the visitors equalized just nine minutes into the second half. Bruno Fernandes delivered a precise pass to Zirkzee, who executed a stunning volley from a tight angle, leveling the match at 1-1 in the 54th minute.
The turning point came in the 63rd minute when Fernandes set up Mason Mount for a free-kick just outside the box. Mount's low shot found the net at the near post, putting United ahead 2-1.
With the lead in hand, United effectively managed the final moments of the match, securing a vital 2-1 win.
