Significant Player Exchange Before IPL 2027

As the 2027 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) approaches, a notable trade has occurred between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), involving four players. Under this agreement, England's all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australia's all-rounder Jack Edwards have joined CSK, while left-arm fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed and Australian bowler Nathan Ellis have moved to SRH.

CSK acquired Liam Livingstone for a reduced fee of ₹6 crore, a significant drop from the ₹13 crore that SRH initially paid to sign him. Meanwhile, Jack Edwards has joined CSK at his current fee of ₹3 crore, having missed the IPL 2026 season due to injury.

On the other hand, SRH has welcomed back Khaleel Ahmed at his previous fee of ₹4.8 crore. Khaleel was part of the SRH team from 2018 to 2021 and had an impressive IPL 2025 season with CSK, taking 15 wickets in 14 matches. Additionally, Nathan Ellis, known for his skills in death overs, has joined SRH for ₹2 crore, further strengthening their fast bowling lineup.
