Messi wrapped up 2025 with his much-anticipated 'GOAT Tour' in India, which took place from December 13 to 15, visiting cities like Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi. This marked his first trip to India since 2011.
Despite some chaos during the Kolkata event at Salt Lake Stadium, the other stops were memorable, as he interacted with notable figures including Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, football star Sunil Chhetri, ICC chairman Jay Shah, and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, all in front of enthusiastic football fans.
At 38, Messi achieved a significant milestone by leading Inter Miami to victory in the MLS Cup last December, finishing the season with an impressive tally of 29 goals and 19 assists across 28 matches. Although he didn't score in the MLS Cup final, his assists were crucial in the team's 3-1 triumph over Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
