Reviving Tennis Ball Cricket

New Delhi, June 12: Venkatesh Prasad, a former Indian fast bowler and the chairman of the LEGEN-Z T10 League, has underscored the significant impact of tennis ball cricket in nurturing future cricketing talents, as stated in a recent announcement from the league.

The LEGEN-Z T10, recognized as India's premier tennis ball cricket league, was inaugurated with a spectacular event on June 2. During the launch, Prasad spoke about the league's importance and the foundational role tennis ball cricket has played for many elite players.

“Tennis ball cricket is essential for developing cricketers. Numerous top athletes have refined their skills in this format, mastering techniques like the cut and pull shots while adapting to fast-paced situations,” Prasad remarked.

He further shared, “Having grown up playing tennis ball cricket myself, I can attest to the immense raw talent present at the grassroots level. The LEGEN-Z T10 League aims to provide that talent with a legitimate platform to shine.”

The league's mission is straightforward yet impactful: to elevate street cricketers to the forefront. With the motto 'Gali Se TV Tak,' the LEGEN-Z T10 offers a clear pathway from grassroots enthusiasm to national recognition.

Chiranjeev Dubey, the founder and CEO of the league, expressed, “This league presents a remarkable opportunity for young, passionate cricketers throughout India. We are excited to turn this vision into reality.”

Notably, the son of former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has also signed up for the LEGEN-Z T10. Gibbs commented, “Engaging in tennis ball cricket from a young age fosters adaptability and enhances reflexes. This initiative is thrilling, and I am eager to see its development.”

The LEGEN-Z T10 aims to elevate local cricketing talent to national prominence, offering players from every neighborhood the chance to showcase their skills under stadium lights, in front of enthusiastic crowds, and on national television.
