Exciting Day at the Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], July 5: The third day of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025 witnessed impressive performances from Le Puducherry Hockey and Hockey Uttarakhand at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium.


In a Division 'C' match, Le Puducherry Hockey showcased their skills with a convincing 4-1 victory over Hockey Raj. After a scoreless first quarter, Indhuja E (33') broke the stalemate, giving Le Puducherry the lead at halftime. They maintained their momentum in the third quarter, with Captain Kanagasri (39') scoring to extend their advantage.


The final quarter saw Deepika Dass (48', 55') shine with two goals, ensuring the win was secure. Although Laxmi (56') managed to score for Hockey Raj in the dying minutes, it was merely a consolation as Le Puducherry Hockey celebrated a well-deserved victory.


In the day's second match, Hockey Uttarakhand triumphed over Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey with a 2-0 scoreline in a Division 'B' encounter. Captain Mansi Khatariya (25') provided a crucial goal in the second quarter, putting her team ahead. Minakshi (50') added another goal in the final quarter, while the defense held firm to secure the win.


Earlier in the tournament, Hockey Uttarakhand had also defeated Hockey Karnataka 2-0, while Manipur Hockey dominated Kerala Hockey with a 6-0 victory. Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu narrowly beat Hockey Gujarat 4-3. In a thrilling match, Sonam scored a hat-trick (35', 37', 45') for Hockey Himachal, while Captain Navneet Kaur (32', 44') and Shanvi Sharma (3', 33') contributed two goals each. Tanisha (5') and Kashish Chauhan (49') also found the net.


The match between Assam Hockey and Hockey Jammu & Kashmir was tightly contested, with Jyoshna Ekka (27', 39') and Captain Roshni Burh (38') scoring for Assam, while Akshra Dutta (40', 53') netted both goals for Jammu & Kashmir.


In other Division 'B' matches, Mukta (11') and Gungun Katariya (23') scored for Hockey Uttarakhand against Hockey Karnataka. Later, Manipur Hockey's Jerina Chongtham (13', 14') scored twice in the first quarter, followed by goals from Meikam Surviya Devi (41'), Chanu Ngairangbam Langlen (47'), and Huidrom Bidyaluxmi Devi (53') to secure a commanding win over Kerala Hockey.
