Mbappe's Joy After Quarter-Final Win

Boston, July 10: Kylian Mbappe shared his excitement following France's triumph against Morocco in the quarter-finals, stating that the team is now 'a little closer' to their ultimate goal of clinching the World Cup.


With a 2-0 win over Morocco at Boston Stadium, France secured their spot in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2026.


In a post on X, Mbappe expressed, 'A little closer.'



Both Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele found the net in the second half, propelling France into the semi-finals for the third consecutive time. Mbappe was named Player of the Match, marking his third such accolade in the 2026 tournament.


Continuing his impressive form, Mbappe scored the opening goal against Morocco, achieving a significant milestone in his World Cup journey.


This goal brought his total to 20 World Cup goals across the 2018, 2022, and 2026 tournaments, just one shy of Lionel Messi's record of 21.
