India's Resilient Performance on Day One


Guwahati: Kuldeep Yadav showcased his skills with impressive figures of 3 for 48, helping India to restrict South Africa to 247 for six at the end of Day One of the second Test on Saturday.


Ravindra Jadeja initiated the collapse by dismissing South African captain Temba Bavuma, caught at mid-off by Yashasvi Jaiswal during the final session. Kuldeep then took two crucial wickets, removing Tristan Stubbs for 49 and Wiaan Mulder for 13, significantly hindering the visitors' progress.


At the close of play, Senuran Muthusamy remained not out on 25, while Kyle Verreynne was at the crease with him. Mohammed Siraj had earlier sent Tony de Zorzi back to the pavilion for 28, caught behind.
