Krunal Pandya Shines in IPL Final

Krunal Pandya, honored as the Player of the Match in the final of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Punjab Kings, shared that he reached out to his brother Hardik after the match. He proudly noted that the Pandya family has amassed nine IPL trophies over the past eleven years.

A Memorable Performance

Acquired by Bengaluru for ₹5.75 crore, Krunal showcased his full potential during the high-pressure final, achieving remarkable bowling figures of 2/17 in four overs. His exceptional performance was pivotal in thwarting Punjab's chase of a 191-run target, ultimately leading Bengaluru to a narrow six-run victory and their first IPL title.

Krunal Reflects on Family Achievements

During the post-match ceremony, Krunal discussed his conversation with Hardik, emphasizing their family's impressive record in the IPL. "When I joined RCB, I expressed my desire to win trophies. After three and a half months, I’m thrilled to have delivered on that promise. In ten years, we’ve secured four IPL titles. I also reminded Hardik that there will be nine IPL trophies in our household within eleven years," he stated.

Bowling Strategy Against Punjab Kings

Krunal attributed his success to his ability to deceive batsmen by varying his bowling pace. He explained, "While watching from the sidelines during our batting innings, I realized that slower deliveries were more effective. However, in this format, a bowler must have the courage to execute this strategy, as the margin for error is minimal." He added, "I trusted my instincts, believing that by varying my pace and leaning towards slower deliveries, I could create more opportunities rather than just bowling at full speed. My strength lies in adapting to the situation, and I’ve always relied on my gut feelings." With 25 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 19.52, his best figures stand at 4/41.
