Kolkata Knight Riders' Middle-Order Challenges Persist

The Kolkata Knight Riders continue to face difficulties in their middle-order batting, with Venkatesh Iyer at the forefront of the issue. While it's important not to focus solely on his price tag, fans and the team alike expect a greater sense of accountability. Meanwhile, captain Ajinkya Rahane, despite not securing a lucrative contract, is still contributing with the bat.

Axar Patel's Bowling Brilliance

Delhi Capitals' captain, Axar Patel, showcased his bowling skills by dismissing Rahane and later taking out Venkatesh Iyer. Patel's delivery, a full ball angled away outside off at approximately 90 km/h, caught Iyer off guard. Attempting a big shot, Iyer mis-timed the ball, which resulted in a simple catch for Vipraj Singh. Iyer ended up scoring in single digits.

Injury Concerns for Axar Patel

Axar Patel has been exceptional in the field, making crucial stops. During the 18th over, following Rinku Singh's dismissal, he attempted to prevent runs from Rovman Powell's shot. In his effort, Axar dove from mid-wicket but injured his left hand upon landing. In visible pain, he received immediate attention from the physio and had to exit the field. Faf du Plessis took over the captaincy for the remaining overs.
