In a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), three-time IPL champions, showcased an impressive batting display against the Mumbai Indians (MI). After being invited to bat first, KKR amassed a formidable score of 220 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Captain Ajinkya Rahane led the charge with a brilliant half-century, supported by significant contributions from Finn Allen and Rinku Singh, despite Shardul Thakur's three-wicket haul.


Explosive Start in Powerplay

KKR began their innings with a bang, reaching 31 runs without loss in the first three overs. In the fourth over, Rahane and Allen unleashed a barrage of 25 runs off Hardik Pandya, propelling KKR past the 50-run mark. This performance marked the joint-second highest runs conceded by Pandya in an IPL over, following his record of 26 runs against CSK in 2024.
