Kohli and Rohit Gear Up for ODI Against South Africa with Intense Practice
Intensive Practice Session Ahead of ODI
Before the second ODI against South Africa scheduled for Wednesday, renowned Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma engaged in a rigorous practice session, facing throw-down specialists.
With discussions surrounding their potential inclusion in the team until the next ODI World Cup in 2027, both players showcased their skills during a net session on Tuesday, practicing against throw-down experts.
Kohli appeared to be in excellent form, delivering some powerful shots against throw-down specialists Raghu (right-handed) and Nuwan Seneviratne (left-handed). While a few balls narrowly missed his bat, he successfully connected with most of them.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir closely monitored the practice session, keeping an eye on both players. After completing his practice, Kohli walked past Gambhir without exchanging any words, which must have been an intriguing sight for those following Indian cricket closely in recent days.
Shortly after Kohli headed to the dressing room, Rohit also made his way there but paused briefly to chat with Gambhir. While Kohli and Rohit were the focal points of the practice, other players also put in significant effort during the session.
Following a disappointing defeat in the Test series, India leads the three-match ODI series 1-0 and aims to secure an unassailable lead by winning this match, especially with favorable batting conditions. Yashasvi Jaiswal practiced hitting big shots, while Rishabh Pant joined the batting practice towards the end of the session.
