KL Rahul Achieves 9000 Runs in International Cricket

Manchester [UK], July 26: Indian cricketer KL Rahul has marked a significant achievement in his career by surpassing 9000 runs in international cricket across all formats during the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. This milestone was reached during the fourth Test against England.

As of now, Rahul has accumulated a total of 9,050 runs in 219 matches, boasting an average of 40.04, which includes 19 centuries and 58 half-centuries across 256 innings.

In the current series, he has been in remarkable form, scoring 451 runs in four Tests at an impressive average of 64.42, featuring two centuries and a fifty. However, India is currently trailing 2-1 in the five-match series.

With England performing strongly on home soil and India facing new injury challenges, the team will need to rally together to keep their hopes alive in the series.

In the fourth Test, after an early setback just before Lunch, India regained composure in the second session of Day 4, largely due to a solid partnership between captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul.

The pair ensured a smooth passage as India reached Tea at 86/2 in the Manchester Test on Saturday.

Gill, looking in excellent form, secured his eighth Test fifty and fourth against England, scoring 52 runs off 80 balls, including eight boundaries, demonstrating great skill and intent.

Rahul also celebrated another milestone by reaching 1000 Test runs in England, becoming the fifth Indian to achieve this feat, joining the ranks of cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, and Virat Kohli.

In terms of runs scored in England, Tendulkar leads with 1575 runs, followed by Dravid (1376), Gavaskar (1152), and Kohli (1096). Rahul's inclusion in this elite group marks another significant achievement in his career.

Brief Scores: India 358 & 86/2 (Shubman Gill 52*, KL Rahul 30*; Chris Woakes 2/25) vs England 669 (Joe Root 150, Ben Stokes 141, Ravindra Jadeja 4/143).
