KKR's Angkrish Raghuvanshi Celebrates Key Victory Over SRH in IPL 2026
KKR's Significant Win Against SRH
Angkrish Raghuvanshi, a batter for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), emphasized the importance of their recent victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, expressing hope that the team can maintain their winning streak in the IPL 2026 season.
KKR's Bowlers Stage a Comeback
Under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, KKR showcased a strong bowling effort, limiting SRH to a total of 165 runs in their first innings.
SRH began their innings with vigor, highlighted by Travis Head's explosive 61 runs off just 27 balls, propelling them to 105/1 by the ninth over and 107/2 at the halfway mark. Ishan Kishan also contributed significantly with a solid 42 runs, keeping the momentum for a substantial score.
However, KKR made a remarkable turnaround during the middle overs. Varun Chakravarthy was instrumental, taking 3 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs. Sunil Narine and Kartik Tyagi each claimed 2 wickets, while Anukul Roy, Cameron Green, and Vaibhav Arora added one wicket each, leading to SRH's collapse from a promising position to being all out for 165.
Raghuvanshi's Performance Secures the Win
In pursuit of 166 runs, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (59 runs off 47 balls) and Ajinkya Rahane (43 runs off 36 balls) successfully guided KKR to victory, finishing with seven wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare.
Raghuvanshi on Building Momentum
Raghuvanshi, who was awarded Player of the Match for his performance, highlighted the significance of securing wins in a lengthy tournament. He noted that establishing momentum now could be crucial for the team's future success.
"In a long tournament, wins are very important. As you saw at the start, when you're not winning, it's tough to come back. But now that we're winning, the momentum can carry us forward, and hopefully we can keep that going," he stated during the post-match press conference.
Focus on the Present
Reflecting on his innings, Raghuvanshi mentioned that his approach was to remain present and simply focus on the ball, avoiding overthinking the score, which contributed to his successful performance.
"I was just being in the moment and watching the ball. I wasn't thinking too much about the score or anything—just trying to watch the ball, and I think that helped me," he remarked.
