Jadhav Secures Gold in 10m Air Rifle Men Final

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 22: Kiran Ankush Jadhav from the Navy showcased remarkable skill and composure to win the gold medal in the Men's 10m Air Rifle final at the ongoing 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions held at the MP State Shooting Academy.


Jadhav concluded the event with a score of 252.1, narrowly defeating Olympian Arjun Babuta, who took home the silver with a score of 251.4. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, the reigning national champion in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions, secured the bronze with a score of 229.8, as reported by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).


Shahu Tushar Mane, a teammate of Arjun from the Railways, finished in fourth place with a score of 209.3. Himanshu followed with 181.1, while Ramayana Tomer, Onkar Vikas Waghamare, and Pradeep Singh rounded out the final standings with scores of 166.7, 145.4, and 123.3, respectively.


Junior and Youth Finals Highlights

In the Junior Men's 10m Air Rifle final, Mohammed Murtaza Vania from Gujarat delivered an impressive performance, clinching the gold with a score of 254.3. West Bengal's Abhinav Shaw earned the silver with 251.6, while Onkar Vikas Waghamare secured the bronze with 230.1.


Naraen Pranav from Karnataka finished fourth with a score of 209 after a shoot-off against Onkar. Divyanshu Shailendra Dewangan and Parth Mane placed fifth and sixth, respectively, both exiting after shoot-offs. Uma Mahesh Maddineni and Himanshu completed the finals with scores of 145.3 and 123.


Onkar Vikas Waghamare excelled in the Youth Men's 10m Air Rifle final, winning gold with a score of 250. He maintained a slight lead over his teammate Naraen Pranav, who took silver, while Tamil Nadu's Shakthivel Senthivel earned the bronze with 229.5.


Parth Mane finished fourth with 208.2, followed by Abhinav Shaw and Pritam Kendre, who exited after a shoot-off. Abishek Sekhar and Ritesh Ravindra Ghule were the other finalists.


Medal Ceremony and Upcoming Events

The medal presentation took place in the presence of esteemed guests, including Shri Pawankumar Singh, Secretary General of NRAI, and Shri Sureshwar Singh, MLA and President of Swami Vivekanand Degree College, who served as the Chief Guest. The medals were awarded by Col. C. Naren Babu, a Sena Medal recipient and Commanding Officer of AMU-Mhow, along with other notable figures from the shooting community.


The competition at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy will continue on Tuesday with the Mixed Team event in the 10m Air Rifle category, where the first final is set to take place.
