Kidambi Srikanth Advances to Quarterfinals at Malaysia Masters

Veteran Indian badminton star Kidambi Srikanth has successfully reached the quarterfinals of the Malaysia Masters, following a win against Ireland's Nhat Nguyen in the second round on Thursday.
In a competitive match lasting 59 minutes, Srikanth secured his victory with scores of 23-21 and 21-17 against the world number 33.
Despite his current world ranking dropping to 65 due to a challenging period, Srikanth is set to compete against France's Toma Junior Popov in the upcoming quarterfinals.
Popov earned his spot by defeating another Indian player, Ayush Shetty, with a score of 21-13, 21-17 in his second-round match.
Additionally, Sathish Karunakaran was eliminated after losing to Christo Popov, Toma's brother and doubles partner, with scores of 14-21, 16-21.
In the mixed doubles category, Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila progressed to the quarterfinals after a hard-fought match, winning 21-17, 18-21, 21-15 against France's Lea Palermo and Julien Maio.
Their next challenge will be against the Chinese duo of Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin.
