Kerala Blasters Secure Win Against Jamshedpur FC

In a dominant performance, Kerala Blasters FC defeated Jamshedpur FC 2-0 during the Indian Super League 2025-26 match held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Saturday. Goals from Nihal Sudheesh and substitute Vibin Mohanan secured the victory for the home team, with goalkeeper Arsh Shaikh playing a crucial role in maintaining a clean sheet. Blasters Take Control in the First Half

The match kicked off with both teams eager to establish control in midfield. Kerala Blasters quickly demonstrated their intent through Karim Benarif and Kevin Yoke, while Jamshedpur responded with a more calculated approach, leading to a balanced start.

The first goal came in the 12th minute from a well-executed attack. Kevin found Benarif on the left, who advanced and delivered a precise cross. Nihal Sudheesh, timing his run perfectly, headed the ball into the net, putting the Blasters ahead 1-0.

Jamshedpur nearly equalized just two minutes later when Lazar Cirkovic's powerful header from a corner hit the post, narrowly avoiding disaster for Kerala.

Before halftime, Jamshedpur sought to respond, with Vincy Barretto testing Arsh Shaikh with a header and Sanan's shot being blocked, but Kerala's defense held firm, maintaining their two-goal advantage.

Jamshedpur's Second-Half Efforts Stifled

The second half saw Jamshedpur come out with renewed determination, pushing forward in search of a comeback. Early on, Arsh Shaikh was called into action to handle a dangerous cross from Rei Tachikawa, with Ritwik Das and Messi Bouli also testing the Kerala goalkeeper shortly after.

Despite Jamshedpur's persistent attacks, Arsh Shaikh made several key saves against Bouli, Stephen Eze, and others, as the Blasters defended resolutely. Kerala remained a threat on the counter, with Yoke and substitute Victor Bertomeu combining well, while Vibin nearly scored again but was forced wide.

The match took a decisive turn in the 84th minute when Jamshedpur captain Stephen Eze received a red card, leaving his team with ten players and diminishing their chances of a comeback.
