India's Success at the Archery World Cup 2025

On July 13, in Madrid, Jyothi Surekha Vennam played a pivotal role as India clinched three medals, all in the compound categories, during the Archery World Cup 2025 stage 4.

Concluding their campaign with a total of 14 medals, including three golds, India showcased remarkable talent across the four stages. Vennam, the Asian Games champion, earned a silver medal in the women's compound individual event after a thrilling contest. She narrowly lost to Great Britain's Ella Gibson, with the final score being 148-147.

Entering the last round two points behind, Vennam delivered a perfect score of 30, but it wasn't enough to secure victory. Gibson demonstrated her skill by scoring 29, ultimately taking home the gold.

Parneer Kaur, who also faced Gibson, missed out on a podium finish. In the bronze medal playoff, she was defeated by South Korea's Han Seungyeon, who won 146-143. Vennam had previously triumphed over Seungyeon in the semi-finals with a score of 144-143, earning her place in the gold medal match.

In the women's compound team event, Vennam teamed up with Parneet and 16-year-old Prithika Pradeep to secure a silver medal, despite losing to Chinese Taipei 227-225 in the final.

The Indian team initially led by two points after the second round, but Chinese Taipei applied pressure, narrowing the gap and ultimately winning in the final round.

Vennam continued to excel, partnering with Rishabh Yadav to win a bronze medal in the mixed team compound event, defeating El Salvador's Paola Corado and Douglas Vladimir Nolasco 156-153. The duo had previously lost to the Netherlands, who went on to win gold, in the semi-finals.

Unfortunately, the Indian men's team was eliminated in the quarter-finals, with Rishabh, Aman Saini, and Priyansh unable to advance past the second round in individual events. The recurve team faced disappointment as well, with Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat exiting in the first round, alongside four-time Olympians Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai.
