Buttler's Admiration for Rohit Sharma

Jos Buttler, the wicketkeeper-batter from England, recently shared his thoughts on the Indian cricketer who has left a significant mark on him in recent years. During a conversation with Kookaburra Cricket India, Buttler was posed the question, 'Which Indian cricketer has impressed you the most over the last few years?'

He promptly responded, 'Rohit Sharma, in the way he has captained the country and I think the way he has played, I am a big Rohit fan.'

Buttler's comments underscore Rohit Sharma's effective leadership and his consistent performances, which have garnered him admiration both domestically and globally.

Rohit has successfully guided the Indian team to the finals of the 2023 World Cup and has clinched both the ICC T20 World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy. Although he has stepped back from T20Is and Tests, Rohit is anticipated to participate in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

IPL 2025: Buttler and Rohit Shine

Currently, both Buttler and Rohit are making headlines in the Indian Premier League 2025. Buttler plays for the Gujarat Titans (GT), while Rohit leads the Mumbai Indians (MI), the team he has steered to five IPL championships.

Both players are having remarkable seasons, with Buttler amassing 533 runs in 12 innings and Rohit contributing 305 runs in the same number of matches.

Both MI and GT have secured their spots in the Playoffs and are poised to compete for the championship. MI, who last won the title in 2020, is striving for their sixth title under Hardik Pandya's captaincy. Achieving this would make MI the franchise with the most IPL titles, currently tied with Chennai Super Kings.

The Gujarat Titans, captained by Shubman Gill, have made it to the Playoffs three times in four seasons. They won the IPL in their debut season in 2022 and reached the finals in 2023. After a challenging 2024, GT has bounced back impressively and appears strong heading into the Playoffs.

As it stands, GT leads the table with 9 victories from 13 matches, while MI holds 8 wins from 13 games, placing them in fourth position.
