Gujarat Titans' Stellar Performance

New Delhi: In a thrilling IPL match, Jos Buttler showcased his explosive batting skills, scoring a six-filled half-century, while captain Shubman Gill also contributed significantly with a solid fifty. This powerful performance led the Gujarat Titans to a total of 210 runs for four wickets against the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday.

Buttler, who struggled during the T20 World Cup in India, found his rhythm again, scoring 52 runs off just 27 balls. Alongside him, Gill made a commendable 70 runs off 45 deliveries, and Washington Sundar added another fifty with his 55 runs off 32 balls.

When Buttler is in form, he is a sight to behold, and he hit five sixes during his innings at the Kotla. Four of these maximums came off the bowling of Mukesh Kumar, who had a tough outing with figures of 2 for 55 in four overs after a strong performance in the previous match against the Mumbai Indians.

Buttler targeted Mukesh in the fifth over, scoring 23 runs from three massive hits. One six sailed over fine leg after he shuffled across the stumps, another reached the top tier of the 'Gautam Gambhir Stand', and a third was directed towards the extra cover region.

His aggressive batting helped the Titans reach 68 runs for one wicket during the powerplay, but he was dismissed unexpectedly by a long hop from Kuldeep Yadav.

After Buttler's exit, Gill took charge, hitting four of his five sixes off his Indian teammate Kuldeep, effectively using the slog sweep against the wrist spinner.

Despite concerns about the Titans' middle order being under-tested, Washington Sundar stepped up at number four, finding the mid-wicket boundary against spinners, particularly Vipraj Nigam, who conceded 23 runs in the 12th over.

Sundar reached his half-century with a six over deep square leg off T Natarajan. At 161 for two in 15 overs, the Titans seemed set for a score of 220 but ultimately fell short.

For the Delhi Capitals, Lungi Ngidi was the standout bowler, finishing with impressive figures of 24 runs for one wicket in four overs.
