Martin's Impressive Win at Le Mans
Jorge Martin from Aprilia Racing celebrated a remarkable victory at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans on Sunday, marking his first win since the 2024 Indonesian Grand Prix. He skillfully overtook teammate Marco Bezzecchi in the final laps, securing the top spot on the podium.
This event was particularly significant for Aprilia, as they claimed the top two positions, thanks to their championship leaders. Additionally, Ai Ogura from Trackhouse MotoGP Team made a stunning entry onto the MotoGP podium for the first time. The riders are now set to head to Spain for the next MotoGP 2026 event.
Race Start and Early Battles
Bezzecchi launched off the front row with a strong start, taking the lead by Turn 3. Fabio Quartararo from Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP quickly moved into second place, engaging in a fierce battle with Pedro Acosta from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. Francesco Bagnaia, starting from pole position, fell back to fourth, while Fabio Di Giannantonio from Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team improved his position to fifth.
On the second lap, Alex Marquez from BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP crashed out of the top ten, while Acosta successfully passed Quartararo at Turn 11, setting his sights on Bezzecchi.
Mid-Race Drama Unfolds
As the race approached its midpoint, Bezzecchi maintained a 0.6-second lead over Bagnaia, with Acosta in third. Martin was gaining ground, but a crash by Bagnaia on lap 16 allowed Martin to move into third place, enhancing his chances for victory.
