John Cena's Exciting Announcement

Recently, John Cena made a significant announcement, confirming that he will be the host for Wrestlemania 42, which is set to occur in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19. The 17-time world champion has previously hosted major events and is now ready to take on this prestigious role. While past hosts like The Miz and The Rock have engaged in physical confrontations during their hosting duties, Cena has clarified that he will not be participating in any in-ring action.

In a December 2025 interview, Cena stated that he would retire from wrestling after December 13. He reflected on his 23-year career with WWE, emphasizing that he is fully committed to stepping away from the ring. "This is a unique situation in WWE history, as most Superstars linger for one last match. I am completely done. My final performance will be on December 13 on Peacock," he shared during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Before his retirement, Cena also mentioned that he would not don his wrestling attire, opting instead for a formal suit at Wrestlemania 42.

Cena is anticipated to kick off both nights of the event and participate in several backstage segments. He may share the spotlight with Gunther, who defeated Cena in his farewell match. Additionally, Cena could offer support to Cody Rhodes as he prepares to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the main event.

The second night will feature a World Heavyweight Championship match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns, which has been confirmed as the main event. WWE has also announced that Seth Rollins will face Gunther, with plans for Rollins to initially compete against Bron Breakker being altered despite Breakker's recovery from injury. Furthermore, Penta will defend his Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match, while Finn Balor is set to battle Dominik Mysterio in a singles match.
