Jhulan Goswami on Harmanpreet Kaur's Leadership

Jhulan Goswami, one of India's legendary fast bowlers, expressed her belief that the record set by Harmanpreet Kaur, who has led the Indian women's cricket team to a World Cup victory and secured two WPL titles, is unlikely to be surpassed. She noted that Harmanpreet has the potential to continue playing for another four to five years.

Under Harmanpreet's captaincy, India clinched the ODI World Cup, and prior to that, she guided the Mumbai Indians to win the WPL championship.

As the bowling coach and mentor for Mumbai, Jhulan shared her thoughts with a news agency, stating, "What she has accomplished for Indian cricket and the Mumbai Indians is remarkable. I don't believe anyone will break her record in the near future. She is the first Indian woman captain to win a World Cup and has also secured two WPL trophies. I hope she continues to achieve more in the future."

Jhulan also mentioned that the celebration with former cricketers like Mithali Raj, Anjum Chopra, and Reema Malhotra after the World Cup victory was not pre-planned.

She reflected, "I don't think we discussed anything at that moment. Emotions were running high. I thank Harman, Smriti Mandhana, and the entire team for this. It wasn't something we had arranged beforehand. We were connected to the broadcast, and the producer suggested we could ask one or two questions while the team thanked the audience. However, the way these girls came to us and celebrated was something I don't think Indian cricket or any other sport has ever witnessed."
