Jayesh Ashplya Dominates at Kolkata Open

On May 2, Jayesh Ashplya triumphed over Navneet Manaksia to secure the 50+ Men's Singles championship at the Kolkata Open, a PWR 400 event sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA). Jayesh showcased an impressive performance in the final, decisively defeating Navneet with a score of 11-2. From the outset, he controlled the match's tempo, demonstrating both precision and composure, which left little opportunity for his opponent to mount a comeback. The lopsided score highlighted his dominance throughout the match.

This victory capped off a strong tournament run for Jayesh, who had previously defeated Rangan Chakraborty 11-5 in the semifinals, maintaining his focus during critical moments and applying consistent pressure.

Navneet reached the final after a convincing 11-2 win against Abhishek Tibrewala in the other semifinal. However, he found it challenging to establish his rhythm against the relentless Jayesh in the final.

The final match was a testament to the competitive spirit and experience present in the 50+ category, with both players displaying remarkable talent. Ultimately, it was Jayesh who emerged victorious, concluding a memorable tournament with a well-earned title.
