"It was an honor to meet His Excellency President @anuradisanayake today and discuss the current landscape of cricket in Sri Lanka. Our dialogue centered on expanding opportunities for young talent, bolstering grassroots and youth programs, and utilizing cricket as a means for social change and economic advancement," Shah stated on X.
He also highlighted the significant role Sri Lanka plays in hosting major international cricket events and its contribution to the sport's global growth.

Jay Shah's Leadership at ICC
Jay Shah assumed the role of ICC Chairman in December 2024, transitioning from his position as BCCI Secretary. Under his leadership, the ICC has successfully organized several prestigious tournaments, including the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, the 2026 ICC U19 World Cup, and this year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
