Jasprit Bumrah's Availability Crucial for India's Fourth Test Against England

Bumrah's Role in the Series

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has previously stated his intention to participate in only three Tests during the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar series. So far, he has played in the first and third Tests. With India having secured one victory and lost two matches, the upcoming fourth Test is critical for the team's chances in the series.

Uncertainty Surrounding Bumrah's Participation

Bumrah's presence could be vital, especially as the bowling lineup seeks stability. However, the team management has yet to confirm whether he will take part in the next Test scheduled in Manchester.

Gavaskar's Perspective on Player Commitment

Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar shared his views on the matter, emphasizing that players who commit to a series should be ready to compete in all matches. He firmly stated:

"No superstar player should take a break. You have not come here for a holiday."

Gavaskar Advocates for County Matches

India faced a narrow defeat by 22 runs in the third Test at Lord's while chasing a modest target of 193. This loss highlighted vulnerabilities in India's top-order batting. Captain Shubman Gill expressed disappointment over the team's performance, particularly in the final session of Day 4, but praised the efforts of players like Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj.

With over a week until the fourth Test, Gavaskar suggested that players who have had limited playtime should participate in County matches to gain essential match experience ahead of the next game, which starts on July 23.

"You should get some cricket. You are playing for India. You are not here for a cruise or something like that."

Bhogle's Recommendations for Player Development

Commentator Harsha Bhogle also recommended that players such as Akash Deep, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Arshdeep Singh, and Nitish Reddy should engage in County games during the break between the Tests.

In response, Gavaskar remarked:

"Even Kuldeep Yadav. Suddenly, you want them in the team. With what practice you want them in the team?"
