Bumrah's Pre-IPL Workload Management
Jasprit Bumrah, the star fast bowler for India and the Mumbai Indians (MI), has arrived at the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for workload management ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, as reported by a sports news outlet.
The right-arm pacer is focusing on his strength and conditioning during his time at the CoE.
The BCCI medical team has devised a plan for Bumrah, emphasizing preparation for India's white-ball series in England scheduled for July. He is expected to rejoin the Mumbai Indians before their first match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29.
During this tour, India will compete in five T20 internationals and three One Day Internationals.
Recalling T20 World Cup Heroics
Bumrah played a pivotal role in India's triumph at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup held at home, marking a historic achievement as no other team has managed to defend the title successfully. He delivered an outstanding performance in the final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, taking four wickets.
India secured a decisive victory in the final, winning by 96 runs, with Bumrah's impressive bowling figures of 4 wickets for just 15 runs in four overs.
His exceptional performance earned him the Player of the Match award.
Tournament Statistics
At 32 years old, Bumrah was among the top wicket-takers in the T20 World Cup, sharing the honor with his teammate Varun Chakaravarthy. He claimed 14 wickets across eight matches, boasting an average of 12.24, which included one four-wicket haul.
