Jasprit Bumrah Makes Comeback in India's T20I Squad Against Afghanistan
Bumrah Returns for T20I Series
New Delhi: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been included in the squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, pending fitness approval. The selectors have retained the same team that will also compete in the Asian Games later this month in Aichi-Nagoya.
The T20I matches will take place on September 13, 15, and 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with Afghanistan acting as the host.
Joining Bumrah in the squad are all-rounders Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, and fast bowler Harshit Rana, all of whom must also clear fitness tests to participate.
This squad mirrors the one set to compete in the Asian Games in Japan's Aichi-Nagoya.
Bumrah's return follows a knee injury that kept him out of action during India's ODI series in England and the subsequent two-Test series in Sri Lanka.
Squad: Shreyas Iyer (c), Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sanju Samson (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Tilak Varma (vc), Shivam Dube, Nitish Kumar Reddy*, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar*, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Jasprit Bumrah*, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana*.
