Jannik Sinner Set to Clash with Carlos Alcaraz in French Open Final

Exciting Showdown at the French Open
Paris, France - On June 8, World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, a three-time Grand Slam champion from Italy, is gearing up to take on defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the French Open. The highly anticipated match will unfold at the Philippe-Chatrier court in Paris this Sunday.
The last encounter between Sinner and the 22-year-old Alcaraz occurred during the ATP Masters 1000 final in Rome last month, where Alcaraz triumphed with a score of 7(7)-6(5), 6-1, according to reports from Olympic sources.
In their ongoing rivalry, Alcaraz currently leads with a 7-4 record against Sinner, having won their last four matches, including a thrilling five-set semi-final at Roland Garros in 2024. Notably, Alcaraz has also secured victories over Sinner on clay courts twice.
Sinner's sole win against Alcaraz on clay was at the 2022 Umag final, an ATP 250 event in Croatia, where he won in straight sets.
After clinching the Australian Open title in January, Sinner reached the French Open final by defeating Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals without dropping a single set throughout the tournament. He overcame the three-time French Open champion with scores of 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(3), showcasing his remarkable precision, power, and serving skills.
Despite the match's one-sided score, Djokovic displayed moments of brilliance, including some exceptional shots. However, he missed three set points while serving at 5-4 in the third set, allowing Sinner's consistent performance to shine through.
Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the final after receiving a walkover against eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals.
Alcaraz, a four-time Grand Slam winner, last faced defeat against Sinner in 2023 during the semi-finals of the Beijing ATP 500.
