Celebrating Akib Nabi Dar's IPL Achievement

The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, extended his congratulations to cricketer Akib Nabi Dar on Tuesday, following his acquisition by the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals for a whopping ₹8.4 crore.


In a post on Facebook, Abdullah expressed, “Congratulations to Akib Nabi Dar for this remarkable achievement. We take immense pride in him. I am delighted that his hard work has paid off. Now, we eagerly await the season's start to celebrate Akib's successes.”


A passionate cricket fan, Abdullah mentioned that he will be supporting the Delhi Capitals in the IPL.


Dar has shown impressive performances in both the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Ranji Trophy this season. Meanwhile, a festive atmosphere has erupted in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.


As news of Dar's auction spread, family members, relatives, neighbors, and friends gathered at his home to celebrate this achievement. Friends and neighbors danced to the beat of traditional drums, creating a joyful ambiance. Dar's family distributed sweets and offered prayers.


They expressed gratitude to God for this accomplishment, attributing it to years of hard work. His father, Ghulam Nabi, a school teacher, stated, “I am thankful to God for witnessing this day. His selection is the result of his dedication. I am extremely happy, and words cannot express my feelings. This is the fruit of Akib's hard work.” He encouraged the youth to focus on both sports and education while steering clear of bad habits.
