Team Changes and Tactical Adjustments

Mohun Bagan's head coach, Sergio Lobera, made four adjustments to the starting lineup, introducing captain Subhasish Bose and Mehtab Singh in defense, Liston Colaco in midfield, and Australian striker Dimitri Petratos in the attack. In contrast, Odisha FC's coach T.G. Purushothaman opted for a single change in defense, bringing in Saurabh Bhanwala for Saviour Gama.

Maclaren's First-Half Hat-Trick

The match began with Odisha posing an early threat from a set-piece in the third minute, but Rohit Kumar's header went over the bar. Mohun Bagan quickly responded, with Liston Colaco's shot just missing the target before Abhishek Singh tested Odisha's goalkeeper, Amrinder Singh, with a long-range attempt in the 11th minute.

The hosts took the lead in the 14th minute through a well-executed play. Dimitri Petratos delivered a clever backheel to Subhasish, who crossed the ball into the box, allowing Maclaren to head it home and put Mohun Bagan ahead 1-0.

Maclaren nearly scored again in the 19th minute, but his shot was saved. However, he found the net five minutes later, receiving a pass from Colaco and finishing with precision to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 24th minute.

The Mariners continued to apply pressure, and their third goal came in the 42nd minute from center-back Alberto Rodriguez, whose low shot from distance found the back of the net, making it 3-0.

Odisha managed to respond quickly, with Rahim Ali scoring in the 43rd minute after controlling a long ball and slotting it past Mohun Bagan's goalkeeper, Vishal Kaith, reducing the deficit to 3-1.

Just before halftime, Mohun Bagan restored their three-goal lead when Colaco's cross allowed Maclaren to tap in his hat-trick goal, ending the first half with a commanding 4-1 advantage.
