Jacy Jayne's Championship Reign Begins Amidst New Rivalries in WWE NXT
Jacy Jayne Claims WWE NXT Women’s Championship

Jacy Jayne recently kicked off her reign as the WWE NXT Women’s Champion after a surprising victory over Stephanie Vaquer. This unexpected win has set the stage for new challenges, including a potential rivalry with Mariah May.
During the June 3 episode of WWE NXT, which took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, The Fatal Influence celebrated Jayne's championship win. Several contenders, including Lainey Reed, Jordynne Grace, Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, Jaida Parker, and Lash Legend, expressed their desire to be the first to challenge her.
Mariah May also made her debut, asserting her ambition to become the next WWE NXT Women’s Champion. This marked her first appearance in the promotion after transitioning from AEW, leading Jayne to initially mistake her for a returning champion from the main roster.
Jacy Jayne's Initial Confusion Over Mariah May's Identity
In a discussion on Busted Open Radio, Jacy Jayne recounted her surprise at seeing Mariah May, who appeared as a mysterious figure during the women's division's chaos. With her blonde hair and elegant white dress, Jayne initially thought it was Tiffany returning. However, she quickly realized that Tiffany was not present, as she did not hold a title.
“At first, I thought it was Tiffany. I was like, Oh my God, Tiffany’s here. But then I was like, OK, well, she doesn’t have a title. Can’t be Tiffany. But I’m excited, you know, I welcome anybody to our division. Let’s see if you can hang with our division. And it’s just another shot for me to show everyone that I’m better.”
On her debut night, Mariah confidently declared, “I’m the next NXT Women’s Champion,” signaling her intent to challenge Jayne. Despite this bold statement, Jayne appeared unfazed, showcasing a newfound confidence since winning the title. Mariah's arrival could ignite a fresh rivalry, with her officially signing a contract to remain on the brand next week.
