Jack Edwards, an allrounder from New South Wales (NSW), has been called up to join Australia's ODI squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. This change comes after pacer Billy Stanlake was sidelined due to an injury, as reported by Cricinfo.
Edwards recently stepped down from his role as captain of New South Wales to concentrate on his personal performance. He earned his spot in the squad following his participation with Australia's A team during a four-day series in India against India A. Although he made his international debut in a T20I series against Pakistan earlier this year, he has yet to play an ODI for Australia.

Stanlake sustained a side injury while bowling in the second match of Australia's series against Zimbabwe. Australia concluded that series with a clean sweep, winning 3-0, including a thrilling one-wicket victory in the final match.
In a related development, Spencer Johnson has been released from the squad to manage his workload ahead of the 50-over segment of the Australia A tour in India. Johnson played in two matches during the Zimbabwe series, contributing significantly with the bat alongside Nathan Ellis in the final game.
