Ishan Kishan's Unique Bowling Tribute in County Championship Match
Kishan's Playful Bowling Performance
Ishan Kishan's recent stint in the County Championship took an amusing twist as he delighted fans with a nostalgic nod to legendary spin bowlers. While playing for Nottinghamshire in a drawn match against Somerset at Taunton, the 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter bowled a single over that quickly gained popularity online.
His opening delivery mirrored the iconic bowling style of Harbhajan Singh, executed with remarkable accuracy. Kishan bowled to Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who was well-set at over 140 runs. Although the delivery posed no threat to the batsman, Kishan's tribute to Bhajji captured the audience's attention.

Following this, he delivered two more off-spin balls before switching to leg-spin, channeling Shane Warne's style. The last ball of his over drifted wide, but the umpire chose not to call it a wide, maintaining a light-hearted atmosphere.
Kishan concluded his brief bowling spell with figures of 0 for 1, marking his first official bowling experience in the County Championship.
Match Summary: Nottinghamshire vs. Somerset
The match ended in a draw, with Somerset declaring their second innings at 238/4, thanks to an unbeaten 147 from Kohler-Cadmore. Earlier, Somerset had scored 379 in their first innings, bolstered by contributions from Tom Abell and Tom Banton. Nottinghamshire responded with a strong total of 509 runs in 163.2 overs, featuring centuries from Ben Slater (124) and Jack Haynes (157). Kishan added a solid 77 runs to the scoreboard, hitting eight fours and two sixes.
This performance marked Kishan's second consecutive fifty in red-ball cricket. In his County debut against Yorkshire last month, he scored 87 runs off 98 balls. Although he missed the Indian team's current tour of England, Kishan has been active since the IPL, where he amassed 354 runs in 14 matches for SunRisers Hyderabad.
Having last participated in a Test match in July 2023, the Jharkhand batter is utilizing the domestic season to refine his skills across various formats.
