Injury Update on Ishan Kishan

Wellington: Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper-batter, will not participate in the upcoming third T20 International against New Zealand due to an injury precaution, as confirmed by India's bowling coach Morne Morkel on Monday.

The 28-year-old player sustained a right adductor strain during the first match of the series last week.

"Ishan is recovering well and will be training today. However, he won't be available for selection tomorrow as a precautionary measure," Morkel stated during the pre-match press briefing.

The right adductor refers to a set of muscles located on the inner thigh.

Kishan also missed the second T20I, with the young batting talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stepping in for him in the lineup.

To provide additional support, uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra has been included in the squad as a replacement for Kishan. Currently, India is leading the five-match series with a score of 2-0.
