Irfan Khan's Encounter with Traffic Police

Recently, Irfan Khan, a batting all-rounder from Pakistan, found himself in the spotlight for breaking traffic regulations. A video capturing the moment has quickly gained traction on social media. In the footage, the cricketer is seen in the front seat of a vehicle when a traffic officer approaches him, pointing out that he is not wearing a seat belt. The officer humorously questions whether the player should face a penalty for his infraction. The situation took a light-hearted turn when the officer realized he was dealing with a Pakistani athlete. Irfan was also asked about his team, the Hyderabad Kingsmen, which finished as runners-up in the 2026 Pakistan Super League season.

Traffic Police Issues a Warning

Before discussing the potential fine, the officer inquired if Irfan had fastened his seat belt. He emphasized the importance of wearing a seat belt for safety, reminding Irfan of his significance to the Pakistani community. The 23-year-old received a warning after the officer jokingly threatened to impose a fine of PKR 5,000.

Irfan made his international debut for Pakistan in April 2024 and has since participated in 14 T20 internationals and 9 One Day Internationals (ODIs). In ODIs, he has taken three wickets and scored 48 runs, while in T20Is, he has accumulated 189 runs at a strike rate of 135. During the 2026 PSL, he scored 149 runs at a strike rate of 125.21 over 10 innings. Under the guidance of Australian captain Marnus Labuschagne, the Hyderabad Kingsmen had a remarkable season, overcoming an initial four-game losing streak to win their next four matches, ultimately reaching the finals where they faced defeat against Babar Azam's Peshawar Zalmi. Babar's two centuries helped him equal Fakhar Zaman's PSL record of 588 runs in a single tournament, with Peshawar emerging as the favorites after losing only one match. The Hyderabad team made a strong comeback, defeating Islamabad United and Multan Sultans, the previous champions, in the playoffs.
