Ireland vs Israel Match Relocated to Neutral Ground
The upcoming Nations League match between Ireland and Israel will now take place at a neutral venue without spectators, as announced by the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) on Friday. This decision comes in response to protests from players and fans regarding the civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Originally, the match was set to occur at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on October 4. Additionally, the match scheduled for September 27, which was to be hosted by Israel, will also be moved to a neutral location.
The FAI expressed that the Palestinian Football Association has shown gratitude for the FAI's principled stance in support of Palestinian rights and athletes.
