Yograj Singh's Strong Words on Iyer's Dismissal

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India] - Former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh expressed his disapproval of Punjab Kings' captain Shreyas Iyer's dismissal during the IPL 2025 final, labeling it a "criminal offence."


In a thrilling match held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched their first IPL title in 18 years, defeating Punjab Kings by six wickets.


Iyer's wicket proved pivotal for Punjab, as he was caught by wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma after scoring just one run off two balls from Romario Shepherd.


Commenting on Iyer's dismissal, Yograj Singh stated, "The shot Shreyas played in the final was, in my opinion, a criminal offence. Ashok Mankad informed me that this falls under Section 302, which could lead to a two-match ban. What Shreyas did is simply unacceptable, and no apology can rectify it."

Krunal Pandya (2/17), Yash Dayal (1/18), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/38) delivered impressive bowling performances, particularly as Shashank scored 22 runs in the final over while chasing 29 runs.
